About the process

About the process

Every Tensira product begins with cotton. The fibres are spun, dyed, woven, and sewn by hand in a fully vertical workshop. Their signature tie-dye technique requires thousands of stitches to be sewn by hand before dyeing, then removed to reveal intricate patterns.

Traditional indigo dyeing is practiced using methods passed down through generations. These techniques are not only visually striking but reflect a deep knowledge of natural materials and colour.

From their looms to their sewing stations, Tensira’s process is slow, skilled, and comes from a centuries old culture of making.
