Fineweave Sisal Plant Pot - Exclusively for Tomorrows

  • Kenya

These baskets are an exclusive collaboration between Tomorrows and the ladies of Hadithi Baskets. For this season, we worked closely with Hadithi to co-create these custom baskets in red and pink tones, and lined the medium and large sizes to adapt them for use as plant pots.

Hadithi's fineweave baskets are unique, handwoven sisal pieces crafted in the Taita Hills of Kenya. Made with extra fine twine and a high-density weave, these baskets are time-consuming to create and showcase the skill passed down through generations of Taita women.

We are very proud of this partnership.

  • Sustainability Features
    Natural Materials

Hadithi baskets are made from sisal grass and natural materials. We have included a plastic lining so that the basket can be used as a plant pot.

    Circular Economy

This product is designed for longevity, reuse, and recycling. Since they are made from biodegradable materials like grass, they return to the earth after their useful life.
We tried to source a recycled plastic lining for this collection however it proved very challenging. Plastic bags have been banned in Kenya since 2017 and therefore are a scarce resource. We are working with Hadithi’s design team to improve this aspect of the product in our next collection.

    Low Carbon Production

This basket is made entirely by hand from locally sourced grasses in the Tsavo National Park of Kenya. No electricity is used in it's production, aside from the power used at the office. At Tomorrows, we offset carbon produced in the shipment from Kenya to Europe.

  • Caring for your product
Sisal is known for its strength and durability, even standing up to salt water. However, to keep your basket’s colours vibrant, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. While a little water won’t harm it, be sure to dry your basket thoroughly if it gets wet, as this helps it keep its shape. Since sisal is a natural material, leaving it damp for too long may cause mould. Handle with care to ensure your basket stays beautiful for years to come.
